The second drawing is a sketch of a dear friend I met up with when I was in California for my day job. Drawing from life is quite difficult for me, though for a time I went to the ASIFA-Atlanta weekly figure drawing classes quite regularly. I should start again, particularly since started to read Drawn to Life.
